With three months until our 3rd Canadian Frac Sand Summit, we wanted to give three reasons why we’ve invested our time, money, and efforts to bring high-quality networking events to Canadian Frac Sand (and yes, that was three 3s in one sentence).
- Canadians want it. After hosting frac sand events in Texas for a decade, we had folks travel from around the world (including Canada) to learn and grow their business. After experiencing the quality of our conferences, our Canadian friends asked us to come up north and host one for them. From year one to year two, we doubled our attendance to over 120 professionals attending last fall. That re-commitment testifies to the value of networking which happens with us.
- Canadian supply-chain has a lot of opportunity. We applaud the efforts of Canadian operators to sail against major headwinds: permitting nightmares, comparatively poor infrastructure (roads, transload storage, local supply distance, etc.), First Nations relations, and brutal weather. While in the Permian, many conversations center around slurry lines, shaving seconds off unload times, wet sand handling, saving a dollar on sand or trucking costs, etc. We get excited to be a place where conversations can happen that make meaningful industry change. There is work to be done that cannot be done alone or siloed. And did we mention that a substantial challenge right now is the giant tariff placed on NWS while supplies the majority of Canadian sand? We feel for our NWS friends navigating these times…
- Canada’s in growth mode. Like a person who feels themself falling in love again after having his heart broken too many times, we say this cautiously optimistically. No matter what Ottawa likes to say or do, Canadian LNG is coming online and coming on strong. While of course it’s comparatively smaller when put up against the Permian (currently somewhere around 7-8 metric tons), we know sand demand needs to grow to meet the needs of the pressure pumpers and operators sourcing that sand so that they can put nat gas in those pipelines to send that LNG to foreign shores. And growth means more investment needed.
If you are involved in the Canadian sand market (or are interested in learning more), this is the event for you. While we are already SOLD OUT of our add-on sponsorships, we do still have some exhibitor/event sponsorships and a regular attendee passes available.
