Peter Cook

President

Pete founded The Petroleum Connection to oversee the various oil & gas related conferences. As President, Pete identifies and researches potential conference topics, recruits speakers and sponsors, and coordinates some of the highest quality niche conferences in the oil & gas industry. Pete and The Petroleum Connection have been featured in Shale Magazine, Denver Business Journal, Oil & Gas Journal, Marcellus Drilling News, Convene Magazine, Univision, and CNN.

Pete serves on the Board of Policy Advisors for The Heartland Institute, providing advice, interviews, and doing peer reviews on frac sand related issues. He also edits the most widely read newsletter focused on the frac sand industry, The Frac Sand Weekly News Digest, which highlights the biggest news in the industry each week.

Prior to dedicating himself full-time to The Petroleum Connection, Pete spent over twenty years at Commercial Assessments, US Inspect, and their predecessor companies. As their top salesman, he led Commercial Assessments from start-up to a multi-million dollar organization in just a few years, identifying and growing new service lines. He also received the Director of the Year award in 2010 and 2012. Prior to this, Pete led U.S. Inspect’s national expansion program , acquiring dozens of inspection, environmental, and engineering firms in markets throughout the US.

Pete is former Vice President of the University of Dallas National Alumni Board and he served on the Board of Directors for both the Men’s Leadership Forum in Washington, DC. and the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists, as well as on the Technical Review Board at the National Environmental Health Association. Over the course of his career, Pete has served on various committees and been an active member of numerous professional associations (SPE, NISA, TAEP, ICSC, NMHC, MBA, IBBA, NAHI, PRSM, ASHI, WISA, RFMA, SHRM, etc.).

Pete is a graduate of the University of Dallas, where he played on the men’s basketball and soccer teams and served in Student Government. He lives on a farm near South Bend, Indiana with his wife and their seven children. When not planning conferences, chasing kids, reading, or renovating their 100+ year old farmhouse, Pete tries to stay in shape by playing basketball or taking walks in the woods (while looking for his golf ball). He is also active in his parish and several charitable organizations.
