Frac Sand Weekly News Digest

Nick Cook, Editor

Issue #270 | May 6, 2020

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the 500+ people put out of work from the frac sand industry over the past month or so.  In hopes of helping out, I did some research to find what job listings are out there at some of the larger frac sand companies.  Those links are included in the newsletter below.  I can’t guarantee that most of those jobs are still open, but they’re worth a look.  St. Rita, Patron Saint of the Impossible (and unofficially the patron saint of oil & gas…as shown in the movie “The Rookie”)…pray for us!

Beyond the devastating news regarding lay-offs, this week we do have interesting articles related to frac sand.  Also, it was good to see so many states beginning to open up again.  Hopefully there is not a big uptick in coronavirus cases and we can work on restarting the economy.  That might drive some oil demand.

Don’t forget that we are still planning to have our Mobile-Mini Frac Sand Mine Forum on July 1 in Houston.  With so many frac sand mines shutting down, the supply chain is once again realigning and new opportunities will emerge.  The cost-saving opportunities related to mini and/or mobile mines will force E&P’s and OFS companies to take a hard look at them as potential solutions.  Position yourself now for success in 2021 and beyond.  Heck, we might even be looking for a “Mask Sponsor”!

Stay safe and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
