We hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend! It was a pretty quiet week for the frac sand industry. We expect to have some more news next week. We did have some great initial discussions with the Grapevine Convention & Visitor’s Bureau and we should have some fun additional activities during the 10th Annual Frac Sand Supply & Logistics Conference. Please plan on bringing spouses and family if you can!
And now, the news…
Over the past couple weeks, our coverage of the DSL has taken us deep into the listing debate. In case you missed it, here are three pieces on the lizard Infill Thinking published in May.
In this chart you can see how these key completion parameters have changed in Pennsylvania, since 2013. It reveals that lateral lengths in Pennsylvania more than doubled since 2013, to over 10 thousand feet by the middle of last year, and that proppant loadings more than quadrupled.
U.S. crude futures climbed to the highest in more than two-and-a-half years after the OPEC+ alliance forecast a tightening global market, while international efforts to revive a nuclear deal with Iran were yet to reach a breakthrough.
Solaris's mobile proppant solution fleet count went up by 24% in Q1 due to higher completions and fracking activity.
Liberty extends its FracTrends database to all United States Shale Basins. Proppant and fluid intensity is stabilizing in many places, but still increasing in others.
When we chat with industry contacts about simulfracs, the focus is almost entirely on the efficiency gains (potential for more stages per crew day). But there are some ESG benefits to consider as well.
Sand, a key raw material utilized in infrastructure, energy, and construction projects, is forecast to soon be in short supply. Demand for the critical commodity has tripled in the 21st century.
The completion of three acquisitions of river sand tenements at the mouth of Western Australia’s Ashburton River brings Cauldron a step closer to the global sand market.
