A day late, but worth the wait! Big story this week as Iron Oak Energy announces another acquisition. It’s their 4th since their Covia x Black Mountain merger a little over 18 months ago). Signal Peak Silica is now under the Iron Oak umbrella. We’ve known the leadership at both companies for many years now, and it’s great to see. Our estimates are that the Iron Oak team controls somewhere between 30-35% of the frac sand market in the US/Canada with a broad geographic distribution.
Also, remember how people were talking at the Frac Sand Update a couple months ago about frac sand trailers getting stolen all the time in the Permian? Well, one thief is off the streets.
Also, if any of you are going to be at the big Permian Power Conference next week in Midland, let us know!
Also also, early bird registration ends for September’s big, annual Frac Sand Conference on June 30th.
Alsox3, Australia gets a few stories.
Alsox4, I’ll stop and just get you the news.
And now, the news…
The Signal Peak acquisition increases Iron Oak's exposure to the Anadarko and Eagle Ford basins, both of which stand to benefit from robust drilling and completion activity to support growing natural gas demand to power data centers and for LNG exports.
Honestly, if you're not an Infill Thinking subscriber, it might be worth it just to understand the details of how this deal solidifies a different frac sand industry dynamic.
A 39-year-old Midland man has been arrested after an investigation that began May 4 uncovered over $450,000 worth of stolen trailers and fraudulent registrations across multiple Texas cities.
Crude futures rise for a third consecutive session as a renewed exchange of fire between the U.S. and Iran raise tension and concerns that oil will be shut in for longer.
New modelling for the NT Government has revealed Beetaloo Sub-Basin gas development could create about 13,000 Territory jobs over the next two decades.
Elixir Energy launches stimulation/testing at Lorelle-3H; 11-stage frac with 6m lbs proppant in Tinowon Sandstone; mid-June flow-back, targeting IP30 prod.
Silver Point Capital, a global leader in credit investing, today announced that its Direct Lending business has participated in the term loan facility supporting the acquisition of Signal Peak Silica.
Half dozen quick hits crossed our desk that are worth a mention…
