December 2, 2024 – Konya Silica is proud to announce the acquisition of Southern Ohio Sands and
Beaver Pike Enterprises, effective immediately. This strategic acquisition marks a significant step in our
mission to serve the industrial and energy markets across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York and
beyond with premium silica products.
Our newly acquired assets include an exceptionally high-quality silica sand resource, boasting over 9,000
PSI crush strength, 99% silica content, and extremely low iron content, making it an ideal solution for
industrial applications and the oil and gas marketplace in the Appalachian Basin, including the Utica and
Marcellus Shales.
With the addition of Beaver Pike Enterprises, we now have an advanced bagging facility, enabling us to
offer a full suite of product options, including bulk wet sand, bulk dry sand, silica gravels up to several
inches in size, as well as 50-pound, 100-pound, and supersack bagged sand and gravel products.
At Konya Silica, we are committed to revitalizing these operations to position them as industry leaders. We
will begin immediately investing significant capital to enhance production capabilities, with plans to
achieve a nameplate capacity of over 2 million tons annually by mid-2025, with further plant
expansions expected in 2026 and 2027.
Our operations are already producing for the industrial sand market, and we are dedicated to increasing
volumes in this sector. By April 1, 2025, we will begin offering our products into the oil and gas
marketplace, offering the first in-basin frac sand solutions tailored to the needs of the Appalachian
Basin.
