Rhett Bennett began his career in Oil & Gas in December 2004, starting as the Acquisitions Manager of Cascade Energy LP in Dallas, Texas. During his time there, Mr. Bennett oversaw the divestiture of over $8.7 million in producing oil and gas properties, as well as led the acquisition efforts of the company in over $2.5 million in producing property acquisitions. In early 2007, Mr. Bennett founded Black Mountain Royalty LP and Black Mountain Exploration LP. As CEO of Black Mountain Royalty, Mr. Bennett has guided the company’s rapid growth as one of the leading independent oil and gas royalty acquisition firms in the country. In five years, the company has amassed a portfolio of over 10,082 oil and gas wells in which possess an interest, covering over 813,916 gross acres in 11 states.

As CEO of Black Mountain Exploration, Mr. Bennett has developed a successful land acquisition firm that is an early mover in resource plays throughout the United States. To date, the company has generated over $69 million in gross revenue from leasehold divestitures covering 163,000 gross acres across multiple basins. In 2011, Mr. Bennett founded Black Mountain Land Company LLC and Black Mountain SWD LP, to create value as an early mover in the real estate and service sectors of the oil and gas industry in emerging resource plays. Rhett Bennett earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Georgia in 2003, and completed the Energy Executive Management Program at the University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business in 2012.

Mr. Bennett is a member of many industry organizations, including the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association, the National Association of Royalty Owners, the Fort Worth Petroleum Club, the American Association of Professional Landmen, and Young Professionals in Energy. Mr. Bennett is also active in local and national philanthropic and non-profit organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Boy Scouts of America.
