Robert joined the company in 2005 after receiving his MBA. Prior to going to business school, he worked as a field geologist for a private engineering firm in Houston.

As an analyst, he has widespread experience analyzing exploratory shale formations all around the world, and he has worked on upstream consulting projects that included asset opportunity screening studies for E&Ps and due diligence work for private equity-funded M&A.

Robert initially helped develop upstream research for some of the first shale plays in the US, and then extended that experience internationally, serving as Product Manager for our Global Unconventional Play Service — responsible for the P&L of a high-profile research product and the management of a global research team.

In late 2015, after returning to his roots in onshore US research, Robert relocated to Dallas to forge new client relationships with North Texas E&Ps, investors and service companies. He analyses the macro trends impacting US E&P, and also studies the latest activity of a lot of play-opening operators and their projects.

Robert regularly contributes to written media and industry conferences, as both a speaker and session chair. He specializes in geologic play description, portfolio valuation, production forecasting, analogue modeling, and sector trend analysis.
