Tommy Mathews, PG, REM has over 35 years of experience in the environmental compliance industry including 22 years as a President and founder of Westward Environmental, Inc. in Boerne, Texas. He provides expertise on environmental issues and is a frequent speaker at conferences throughout Texas and the United States. Mr. Mathews has served on the Environmental Committees of the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association, Associated General Contractors of Texas, Texas Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement Association, and the Texas Aggregate and Concrete Association. He has also served as President of the Cow Creek Groundwater Conservation District from 2000 to 2014. He was appointed by Governor Perry to the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority in 2011 where he served as Vice Chairman and Chairman and was re-appointed in 2016 by Governor Abbott. Mr. Mathews has testified numerous times before the Texas Legislature, works as an expert on land use issues, and as a liaison between industry and community groups. He frequently serves on stakeholder and task groups at the state and national level working on various environmental issues that impact industry.
