Before joining the energy industry, Erik served seven years on active duty in the US Army as an intelligence officer. He served multiple combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as supported numerous missions stateside, achieving the rank of Major. After his service he joined Columbia Pipeline Group where he worked as a scheduler and strategic planner. Erik has been with Covia (formerly Unimin) since 2015 establishing an internal market analytics group and being promoted to Vice President of Marketing through the merger of Unimin and Fairmount Santrol, which formed Covia. Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a focus on aeronautics. In his spare time, Erik enjoys woodworking and is an avid pilot. Erik and his wife, Autumn, are the proud parents of Barrett and Annora, residing in The Woodlands, Texas.
