The Petroleum Connection Issues A Clarification On Frac Sand Conferences

Over the past couple of weeks, The Petroleum Connection has received multiple complaints about recent and upcoming frac sand events. Clearly the idea was that “all frac sand events are put on by The Petroleum Connection” and the comments we received complained about poor turnout, difficulty in logistics, lack of information available, poor scheduling, etc. In each case, those were not our events.

In some cases, those other events are put on by foreign companies who host dozens of conferences each year in a huge variety of industries. In other cases, companies who have attended our events in the past decided they would try to make some money off of the industry by starting their own event. In all cases they seem to review our event agendas and contact some of our speakers to put on their agenda.

The Petroleum Connection lives and works in the frac sand industry exclusively. We are the only conference company who can say that.

We did not hold a frac sand event in Houston last week and we are not holding one next month. We are not responsible if those events are low quality. You attend at your own risk. We would recommend, if you need to be careful with your marketing and conference dollars, that you stick with events put on by The Petroleum Connection.

And just to be very clear, at this point The Petroleum Connection’s 2019 events are:

  • The 4thAnnual Frac Sand Industry Update (which was held at The Petroleum Club of Houston on February 6)
  • The 8thAnnual Frac Sand Supply & Logistics Conference (which
will be held September 4-6, 2019 at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio)
  • And there is a chance we will host another Equipment Expo in 2019, though the logistics are still being worked out.

We look forward to seeing you on one of our webinars and at the big conference in September!
