Lucas Bazan specializes in hydraulic and acid fracture design and fractured well performance evaluation. He established Bazan Consulting, Inc. in 2008 after working with Conoco, ConocoPhillips and BP. The firm focuses on design, post-job audits, completion analytics, optimization, onsite fracture supervision and production evaluation of unconventional reservoirs. Lucas has authored and co-authored more than 25 technical publications focusing on hydraulic fracturing and well performance topics, projects for National Oil Companies and research for the U.S. Department of Energy. He serves on multiple workshop and conference committees and peer-reviews papers for journal publication. Lucas also authored Chapter 12, “Field Implementation for Hydraulic Fracturing” for the 2019 SPE monograph series Hydraulic Fracturing Fundamentals and Advancements. Lucas holds degrees in Physics from Southwest Texas State University and Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
