Frac Sand Weekly News Digest

Issue #274 | June 3, 2020

This week there are a handful of articles, primarily looking back at the impact of the coronavirus and the drop in oil demand. That said, we have indications that the frac sand world is looking ahead. In additional to inquiries about buying & selling equipment, we had several companies sign up as sponsors for the 9th Annual Frac Sand Supply & Logistics Conference (as well as verbal commitments from a couple more!).

Regarding the Frac Sand Supply & Logistics Conference… we thought we’d try something new this year in regards to the Golf Outing. Instead of holding the outing the day before the conference kicks off, we have decided to hold it after the conference closes. Some of the benefits to doing so include:

  • In the past, exhibit booth set up conflicted with the Golf Outing, so some of our sponsors were unable to golf because they were busy setting up their booths.
  • Golfing can be relaxing, but it can also wipe you out (out in the sun for 5 hours!). We would rather not have conference attendees start off their event experience being sun-burned and dehydrated!
  • With the conference over, golfers will be able to relax a bit more and enjoy their time with their foursome.
  • We’ll be able to do some additional networking, with a golfers-only reception after we play our round. Previously we were unable to have a reception just for the golfers because we already had our Speaker-Sponsor Reception scheduled for the evening before the conference. We’ll still have the Speaker-Sponsor Reception (on the evening of September 16), plus a golfer reception on the evening of the 18th.
  • Golfers (and others!) can extend their stay at the resort by staying Friday night and perhaps through the weekend! We’d strongly recommend you bring your families out for the conference, or at least for the weekend. It’s a great venue and we have a reduced room rate you can use!

Golf is only $195 for a round, but you do have to be registered as a conference attendee (or sponsor) to be able to sign up for golf. Check out the conference website to register or learn more about sponsorships here: https://petroleumconnection.com/event/9th-annual-frac-sand-supply-logistics-conference/

Mid-September seems like it will be the perfect time to get back out and network. Economies will be open, North American onshore and frac sand will be coming back to life, deals will be done, and the venue and weather should be ideal. Mark your calendars and let’s get back to business! https://petroleumconnection.com/event/9th-annual-frac-sand-supply-logistics-conference/
