Helping Our Friends In Houston

Our thoughts and prayers have been with our family, friends, colleagues, and others in Houston over the past week as they have suffered through the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding. We wanted to share with you some of the charities who are collecting donations to help victims of the flood:

Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders. In addition to leveraging the skills and experience of veterans, they also provide assistance to veterans to help them transition back to civilian life.

Heart to Heart is a Kansas-based charity who does disaster relief. They have a campaign focused on providing relief for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Houston-Galveston has a program to support people of all faiths by providing food, clothing, shelter, and support services to hurricane victims.

The JJ Watt Foundation is actively running a fundraising campaign to go toward relief for victims of the hurricane.

Of course, the Red Cross is handling donations and can be very effective due to their size and resources.

The Houston Food Bank is a Houston charity who is well-established and is focused on food distribution. While they do not appears to have a “Hurricane Harvey” campaign on their website, they are obviously focused on Houston-based people in need.

I am sure any amount you can give will be appreciated.
